Aviation & Space Autographs and Letters
This category includes autographs, including autograph letters, signed photographs and ephemera relating to aviation, aviators, space exploration and aero-engineering. Aviators who are best known for their role in theatres of war are more likely to be found in our military and war category. Aviation is one of those collecting categories that is really only as old as the last century. Its early pioneers, branded by some as mad and reckless, were nevertheless viewed as heroes and heroines and were lauded to the same extent as polar explorers. The autographs of pioneers and aviation record holders, such as Amy Johnson, Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh have always been sought after and are always likely to remain a popular category for collectors. With the advent of manned space flight in the last half of the 20th century, a whole new list of aviation heroes was added to the pantheon.
