ELIZABETH BLACKWELL Autograph Letter Signed. Elizabeth Blackwell was the first woman to receive a medical degree in America and the first to be entered on the British Medical Register. FREDRIKA BREMER autograph Manuscript. Swedish novelist, writer and feminist.   Autograph Manuscript, 2pp, containing a bibliography of her novels and translations. Fredrika Bremer provides her unnamed correspondent with a bibliography as follows: "The first volume of my Sketches of Everyday Life was published in 1828, the second in 29 and the third containing the H. Family the following year. 1833 appeared the President's Daughters and two years later Nina. 1836 was published the Neighbours and the following year the Home or Family Joys and Sorrows, in thirty nine: Strife and Peace or Scenes in Norway, and the Bondmaid: a [Romance?]. 1845.....

MARY CARPENTER Autograph letter Signed. British (English) social, educational and penal reformer, suffragist, campaigner against the slave-trade and philanthropist.   ALS. 4pp. Red Lodge House. February 13th 1865. To "Dear Esther".   We have found the handwriting of Mary Carpenter a little challenging in places (but a little patience would, no doubt, be repaid). The gist is as follows: "Will you kindly send at once and by parcel delivery a copy of the 2nd volume of 'Our Convicts' to the editor of the Illustrated News at their office, 198 Strand. Mr Acton says he has not received a copy. I fear there have.....

HELEN KELLER Autograph Signature. American author and political activist. Deaf and blind from the age of 19 months and without language, she was taught to speak, communicate and read by her teacher, Anne Sullivan, the story of which was told in the film 'The Miracle Worker'. Autograph signature of Helen Keller on a leaf from an autograph album, with an attached note indicating that this was obtained on 29th July 1948.  The verso of the leaf has 8 autographs of members of the New Zealand Olympic team, 1948.   In July 1948 Helen Keller was on a tour to Queensland, Australia,.....

To Mr. Blyth.   "I thank you very sincerely for your kindness in sending me your Life of William Ellis. I look forward to reading it with much interest. Believe me, with renewed thanks" [etc].   8vo. Approx 7 x 4.5 inches. Part of flap of the original envelope adhering to integral blank leaf and with slight mounting traces to verso. All else fine......
