Notable Women.
Although it should not be necessary to have a separate category for the Autographs of notable and eminent women it is, perhaps, one of the harsh realities of history that women have faced difficulties and obstacles that are unique to their gender. Across all fields of endeavour, it has been harder for women to achieve greatness due to artificial constraints, the denial of education, lack of enfranchisement and the imposition of social prejudices. This was something that was its highest in the 18th and 19th centuries and persisted into the 20th. We feel therefore that notable women deserve a category of their own. Women who achieved greatness and fame in these periods overcame considerable odds to do so and should be celebrated for this, as well as for their work in individual fields. Accordingly, you are likely to find these autographs listed in other categories in addition to this one.
