POLITICS (WORLD & COLONIAL) AUTOGRAPHS
World political autographs of the 19th and 20th centuries cover a wide spectrum. In addition to the political institutions and heads of state of major European and World powers, there were myriad small states and colonial areas that, at various times, played a key role in shaping the political and military history of the time. In this category you will find everything from American Presidents to African tribal leaders. Here, too, are BRITISH political figures who are better known for their role outside the UK, such as Viceroys of India and African colonial administrators. Some politicians who enjoyed success in foreign as well as domestic politics might be found in more than one category. The rapid rise and fall of some 19th century political figures, particularly those who played a part in shaping far-flung corners of Empire, can often make their autographs of considerable rarity and very difficult to find.
