LOUIS (LAJOS) KOSSUTH Autograph Signature. Hungarian revolutionary politician and the first President of independent Hungary. Autograph signature on paper piece with the words added, in his hand, "Late Governor of Hungary". A fine, large signature. This has been purposely written on paper for an autograph collector and is not a signature that has been clipped from a letter or document. Paper piece measures approx 4.5 x 2.75 inches. There are mounting traces to the edges of the blank verso, else fine. Louis Kossuth (or Lajos Kossuth in Hungarian form) was a revolutionary freedom fighter during the Hungarian.....

"The moment I received the honour of your letter, I wrote to Dr. Arnold expressing my wishes that Mr Sale's attendance at the Academy tomorrow might be dispensed with. I am sorry to find there is a contest at Windsor, but sincerely wish you success in the present, and every other object of your wishes." 4to. Approx 8.5 x 7.25 inches. T. E. LAWRENCE Newsprint Portrait Signed. British (Welsh born of Anglo-Irish parents) soldier, writer and scholar. He played a key role in the WW1 Arab Revolt (1916-1918) and won immortality as the almost mythical "Lawrence of Arabia". Autograph Signature (signed as T.E. Shaw, a name he used when seeking anonymity after the war) above a newsprint photograph mounted on post-card. The portrait shows T .E. Lawrence in RAF uniform and astride his Brough Superior motorcycle, similar to the machine on which he was killed in 1935. Approx 5.5 x 3.5 inches. A few very light foxing spots, else fine......

"Mr. Etty's respects to Mr. Mahomed & begs to say that tho' his rheumatism is decidedly better, he feels as if he should not like to take his vapour bath till Saturday at three, as he has not had a good night, and does not feel strong this morning, but on Saturday at 3 he should like to have it". JULES MASSENET AUTOGRAPH MUSICAL QUOTATION Signed. French composer, best known for his operas. An attractive quotation of 8 bars on three staves from his opera 'Griselda' (Griselidis). Signed by Massenet, who has also added the title, the place and date (Paris, August 1903) and the word "respectueument". Written on a post-card for the Paris Exposition Universelle 1900 and addressed by Massenet on verso to Mme Carmen de Negarrita Lynels [?] 1211 rue Suipacha, Buenos Ayres, Republique Argentine. Some marking and creasing but generally VG. Massenet's 3 act opera, Griselidis, had first been performed in Paris in November.....

British naval officer and the last Viceroy of India. Photograph, signed Louis Mountbatten in the lower white border. With the words added in his hand "April 1944 - February 1948. S.E.A.C." The photograph shows Louis Mountbatten half-length in the uniform of a British Rear-Admiral, looking to his left with hands clasped. The photographer is not known.
