A fine, large presentation signature on the embossed, letterheaded paper of the War Office, Whitehall, S.W.
8vo. Approx 19 x 12.5 cms. Mounting traces to top edge of verso, else fine.
David Lloyd George succeeded Lord Kitchener as Secretary of State for War following the latter's death when his ship was lost at sea. This signature on War Office paper will, therefore date from 1916 and prior to Lloyd George becoming Prime Minister in December that year.
