ERNEST LEOPOLD, 4th Prince of Leningen. AUTOGRAPH LETTER Signed.

Ernst Leopold Victor Carl August Joseph Emich, Furst zu Leningen. Nephew of Queen Victoria, Officer in the British Royal Navy.

ALS. 1p. 2 Carlisle Place, Victoria Street, S.W. To: "My Dear Flashgate".

Bifolium. 8vo. Approx 18 x 11.5 cms.  Very slight mounting traces to verso of blank leaf of bifolium. Near fine.

Ernest Leopold's father, Carl, 3rd Prince of Leningen, was the maternal half-brother of Queen Victoria. His mother was  Countess Maria Klebelsberg. Ernest Leopold joined the British Navy in 1849 and had a distinguished naval career.  He served as Commander-in-Chief, The Nore and was promoted to full Admiral in 1887.
