Description
GEORGE V (1865-1936) King of the United Kingdom, QUEEN MARY OF TECK (1867-1953) Queen consort of George V, WILLIAM CAVENDISH-BENTINCK 6th DUKE OF PORTLAND (1857-1943), VIOLET MANNERS DUCHESS OF RUTLAND (1856-1937), HELEN PERCY DUCHESS OF NORTHUMBERLAND (1886-1965) & one other. Document signed by all six.
On the letterhead of the Duke of Portland's house at 3 Grosvenor Square, W.1. No date. Signatures in pencil on a single bifolium sheet. Evidently obtained at a rather grand house party and, from another Cavendish-Bentinck autograph obtained at the same place and time it appears that the signatures were provided for a boy named Peter, who was presumably the son of one of the other house guests.
Bifolium. 8vo. Approx 18.5 x 14 cms. Central horizontal fold. Very good.
The document is undated but probably dates from circa 1920. The 6th signature at the foot of the document is unidentified but appears to be a royal autograph "EV.R" or "GV.R" ?
