"I am here - and will be happy to call and sit an hour with you this evening - if I could be admitted in traveller's dishabille. I travel on horseback, southwards, and mean to start before breakfast tomorrow. Ever faithfully yours, Wm. Wordsworth".
4to. Approx 9 x 7.5 inches. Mounting residue to verso and some patchy foxing and age toning.
Provenance: From the 19th century album of Emma Marshall of Penwortham Lodge, Preston. Emma was the daughter of William Marshall, landowner and cotton manufacturer and was related by marriage to the Miller family of Baronets, M.P.s and landowners.
