"I return the [?] corrected for press. The [?] are I think judicious. I have looked at the pages you name; and I do not see how the indentations can be improved. A letter evidently written to his publisher after reading the printed proofs of a book. Mr Murray is either the 4th John Murray or his brother, Hallam Murray. Murray had been Gladstone's publishers for many years. The publication here referred to is unclear but it is possibly Gladstone's translation of the 'Odes of Horace and the Carmen Saeculare', that was published in 1894/5.
